Yesterday, we visited a newly opened restaurant at Alam Sutera called Kayu Kayu. This restaurant is situated next to a furniture store called Ethnicraft. We knew this Ethnicraft because we often pass it every time we drive around Alam Sutera. The place looks very instagenic from far so when we found out that there's also a restaurant inside, we were very excited!
The atmosphere is very cosy and peaceful. They use a lot of woody furniture and green plants to decorate the place. It's a beautiful place to eat, drink and hang out with friends. The venue is quite spacious, they have VIP rooms that can be rent for meeting or any special occasion. They also have second floor but it's not ready yet for public. We insist you to dress nicely, bring your camera and pose the very best you can because this place is so instagenic!
A little information, this restaurant is managed by one of the well known hotel in Jakarta, Kosenda Hotel.
Kayu Kayu mostly serves Indonesian foods so it would be perfect if you want to have a satisfying lunch/dinner because local cuisines never fail to impress us right? But if you prefer something lighter, you can also have a cup of coffee or tea to unwind.
On our visit, we just ordered drinks and light bite because we have eaten before. We ordered Hot Caffe Latte, Hot Chocolate and Fried Enoki.
Hot Caffe Latte (30k) & Hot Chocolate (35k)
Well, we're not an expert on coffee but we think the taste is decent and we enjoy it every sip. We love the hot chocolate though! It's not too sweet for us and the chocolate melts in your mouth perfectly. If you prefer other than coffee, you may consider to order this.
Enoki Jamur Goreng (28k)
This fried enoki is served with cheese sauce. The waiter recommended us to taste this so we gave it a try. It looks ordinary and simple. The one thing that makes it stand out is the cheese sauce. Dip it into the sauce and we bet that you won't ever stop to eat this.
Overall, we had a pleasant time at Kayu Kayu Restaurant. Perhaps, we will come back again soon to try the main course because it seems really delicious. So, see you again Kayu Kayu!
